Universal Music Latin America, a division of Universal Music Group, the world’s leading music company, today made the following executive appointments:
Luis Estrada has been appointed Managing Director, AfterCluv, Universal Music Latin America’s multi-faceted dance platform featuring a record label and artist services, booking, brand partnerships, event and festival production services.
He will report directly to Jesús López, Chairman/CEO of Universal Music Latin America and Iberian Peninsula and indirectly to Víctor González, President of Universal Music Latin Entertainment (UMLE).
Estrada has been with Universal Music since 2001 when he joined the company to launch Universal Music Mexico’s A&R and Marketing-focused New Trends Division. Since then, he has worked across a range of roles including Sr. Marketing Manager and since 2008 General Manager of Universal Music Latino. He subsequently took on additional responsibility firstly for the Machete Music label in 2010 and then Capitol Latin in 2013. Throughout his time at Universal Music, Estrada has consistently developed new talent and worked closely with the most important artists on Universal Music Latin America’s roster on both a strategic and creative level, helping Universal Music’s artists achieve multiple hit records. He also led the launch strategy for AfterCluv in 2015. Estrada holds an MBA from the University of Southern California and a degree in Marketing from Tecnológico de Monterrey.

Alejandro Duque has assumed new responsibilities as General Manager, Universal Music Latino, Machete and Capitol Latin, reporting to Víctor González.
Duque joined Universal Music in 2005 in his native Colombia where he was responsible for New Media in the Andean Region.
In 2007, he was promoted to Latin America Digital Manager and in 2009 became Director of Sales and Business Development for the South Cone.
Most recently, Duque has been Vice President of Digital and Business Development in Latin America, a position he has held since 2012.
Alejandro has been instrumental not only to the operations of the digital business in the region, but also being a key member of the team that has grown Universal Music’s business in Latin America in recent years. D
uque holds a BA in Music Business & Management from Berklee College of Music in Boston.

Skander Goucha has been appointed Senior Vice President Business Development & Digital, Universal Music Latin America, reporting to Jesús López.
Goucha has over 15 years of experience as a leading strategist and business development executive in the digital music arena. In his most recent role as SVP of Digital at Universal Music Latin Entertainment, he was responsible for the development of the division’s digital business and strategy in the US and Mexico. Goucha also served as Director of Digital for Universal Music Latino and as Manager of Mobile Marketing and Operations at Universal Music Latin America. Prior to joining Universal Music Latin America, he was in charge of developing mobile music products and services for Universal Music across Europe. Goucha joined Universal Music’s parent company Vivendi in 2000 as part of its digital investment team. Goucha is a graduate of the Ecole Polytechnique and of the Ecole Nationale de la Statistique et de l'Administration Economique.
Goucha said, “Latin America has a big appetite for innovative ways to distribute and experience music and with both our local and global partners we have a great environment to build unique music experiences, grow existing services and reach a far wider audience than ever before. I am very happy to join the LATAM team to work on the development of our business, music and artists at such an exciting time and I would like to thank Jesus Lopez for this unique opportunity.”
Horacio Rodriguez has been named Vice President of Marketing, Universal Music Latino, Machete and Capitol Latin. He reports to Alejandro Duque.
Rodriguez began his career at Universal Music 10 years ago in Miami where he held a number of roles in Marketing and Product Development. He was then charged with establishing a specialist Department of Digital Marketing for Universal Music Latin Entertainment in US and Mexico where he has served as Sr. Director, developing successful strategies and business opportunities for Universal Music’s Latin artists. Rodriguez holds a BA from Florida International University and an Audio Engineering & Technology Degree from SAE Institute.
Rodriguez said, “It is with great pride that I embark on this new phase of UMLE, a company that has been my second home for so many years. We are on the cusp of a historic moment in our business and I am sure that together with the outstanding Universal Music team we will continue to be the leading company in the development of new artists, marketing platforms and business models."
